Texas Instruments (TI) introduces new Integrated Power Solutions for DC/DC conversion. These products - the TPS8267xstep-down regulator and TPS84620 highly integrated point-of-load solution - feature an integrated inductor and passive components aimed at speeding development time and simplifying power design.
The TPS84620 is a highly integrated point-of-load solution with high density and efficiency and 30% better thermal dissipation compared to competitor solutions. The QFN package combines the inductor and passives onto one device and requires only three external components, making design layout extremely simple. Target applications include broadband and communications infrastructure, along with automated test and medical equipment.
The TPS8267x step-down regulator combines all external components on TI's new MicroSiP™ package - easing design for portable electronics. Plus a unique PWM frequency dithering feature reduces noise and improves performance. The TPS8267x is ideal for use in low-power performance applications, such as cell phones, smart phones, portable audio/video, digital TV, WLAN, GPS, Bluetooth® and portable medical devices.
Join Avnet Electronics Marketing's Chris Cooper for a brief 11-minute overview of both device families, which will include product roadmaps, available products, development tools and technical support offered by Avnet.

Join Mike Brogley of Actel Corporation for an eeTECHbrief overview of Actel’s Mixed-Signal Power Manager (MPM) using the Fusion mixed-signal flash-based FPGA. Mike covers the concepts of power management, MPM features, the interactive MPM graphical user interface used to configure the Fusion device without reprogramming the Fusion mixed-signal FPGA circuitry, and the capabilities of MPM on the Fusion Advanced Development Kit hardware. If you need power management, power-up and power-down sequencing, or power trimming and data logging, learn about the flexible reprogrammable low power FPGA-based MPM solution today.
Over the past decade, standards for up-screening commercial devices to meet higher temperature, military and space-level requirements have increased, making it a risky and potentially costly practice. Although this practice is not condoned by component manufacturers such as Maxim, the reality is that many OEMs shoulder these risks and actively engage in up-screening.
Join Maxim’s John O’Boyle for an on-demand Web Seminar devoted to exploring the risks, costs and design ramifications associated with up-screening and how to mitigate these risks with simple, cost-effective solutions. Discussion topics include:
- Known and hidden up-screening costs
- Risks of up-screening
- Metal migration
- Impact on operating life
- Ruggedized plastic with SnPb finish standard - lead-free optional - 100% burned-in and tri-temp tested (room temp, 125 degrees C, and -55 degrees C)
- Test programs tighter than the data sheet limits
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how Maxim ruggedized plastic devices can improve system reliability in electrically stressful environments in applications that demand high-temperature performance and enhanced reliability such as mobile military and aerospace systems.
